Dear Participants of the 14th Asia-Pacific Conference on Combustion,

Greetings from ASPACC 2023!

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to this year's conference, which promises to be an exciting and informative event. With more than 330 oral and poster presentations in the hybrid meeting, it is clear that the Asia-Pacific Conference on Combustion (ASPACC) continues to be a vital forum for researchers and professionals in the field.

This year's theme, "Towards Net-Zero Carbon and Data-Driven Future," reflects the urgent need for innovative solutions to address the challenges of climate change and data-driven decision making in our community. As we strive to transition towards a net-zero future, combustion plays a critical role in powering our societies and economies while reducing emissions. In particular, the use of low carbon fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia has garnered increasing attention in recent years, and I am pleased that this topic will be featured prominently at the conference.

I am thrilled to announce that we have an outstanding lineup of invited speakers who will share their insights and expertise on a range of topics related to low/zero carbon combustion and data-driven design. We are honored to have Dr. Vigor Yang deliver the plenary speech titled "Data-Enabled Design of Combustion Systems." In addition, we have seven keynote speeches covering a broad range of topics, including the use of artificial intelligence in combustion, development of low-emission gas turbines, and advanced diagnostics in improving our understanding of combustion physics. These talks promise to be thought-provoking, and I encourage you to attend as many as possible, if not all of them.

Furthermore, I am delighted to host this year's conference in the vibrant city of Kaohsiung. The city is historically the industry center of Taiwan, and has recently evolved into the hub of innovative technologies. I hope that you will take the opportunity to explore the city and its many attractions, and experience the warm hospitality of its people.
